Rag Dolls 2 Love – Web Log
Rag Dolls 2 Love, Inc. is a community gesture of love and compassion for children in need. Our volunteer doll-makers from all over the country put love and caring into their stitches, knowing that the doll will soon be in the hands of a child who is at risk for becoming emotionally damaged due to war, natural disaster, or serious illness. One volunteer wrote, “This is one small way I can make a difference in the lives of children who are traumatized by life.”
As of July 2010, more than thirty-one thousand dolls have been distributed all over the world!
When Rag Dolls 2 Love was first started in 2003, the focus was on needy children overseas. Since 2009, our efforts have expanded to include hospitals, women’s shelters, and social service agencies in our own country, as well. Some doll recipients include the Ronald McDonald Houses, Shriners’ Burn Institute, the Red Cross, Doctors Without Borders, children’s cancer wards, and many others.
If you know of an organization that would appreciate and distribute these huggable soft dolls, please e-mail me at ragdolls2love2003@yahoo.com or be in touch with me through this blog. Our organization is blessed with many wonderful, generous volunteers, and you can join this effort easily by contributing ideas, dolls, fabric, and/or a donation.
